How it works

The program’s own rules, as Catalyst runs them.

For each suit, choose a squat, push-up, lunge or dip variation and suitable equipment. Counts are total reps; choose the side order for lunges without doubling the count. Shuffle a complete 52-card deck before starting and work through that order, or use the first 26 cards for a half-deck workout. Numbered cards give their number of reps, each jack, queen and king gives 10, and an ace gives 11. A full deck totals 380 reps; the half-deck total depends on the cards drawn. Rest as needed. For the next workout, choose exercises again and shuffle anew. Choose your own training dates; there is no fixed weekly frequency or automatic progression.

What you need
