How it works

The program’s own rules, as Catalyst runs them.

Complete sixteen weeks, including Sunday recovery, the half-marathon test in week twelve and the five-kilometre test in week sixteen. Choose weights you can lift cleanly and use your actual effort to guide them; there is no automatic weight progression. You can spread the one hundred push-ups and fifty pull-ups through the day or use them as a warm-up. Follow the running segments and recovery periods, treating approximate mile totals as guidance. Before doing optional HYROX work, choose its activities and full round structure.

What you need

Everything its exercises call for. Missing something? The app suggests swaps that train the same thing.

  • Adjustable bench
  • Back extension bench
  • Barbell
  • Cable stack
  • Dumbbells
  • Flat bench
  • Hack squat machine
  • Kettlebells
  • Landmine station
  • Lat pulldown machine
  • Leg extension machine
  • Leg press machine
  • Parallel bars
  • Pull-up bar
  • Reverse hyperextension bench

  • Weight plates
