How it works

The program’s own rules, as Catalyst runs them.

Choose one of four twelve-week schedules with your recruiter, using the initial one-minute push-up test, one-minute sit-up test and timed one-mile run. Schedule one is for passing all three. Schedule two is for passing push-ups and sit-ups but failing the run. Schedule three is for failing push-ups or sit-ups but passing the run. Schedule four is for failing both the strength assessment and run. Train Monday through Saturday and recover Sunday. On assessment days, count push-ups for one minute, sit-ups for one minute, and time the one-mile run with the guide’s technique. Use the standard warm-up and cooldown, assigned ability group, sex-specific pace guidance and drill cadence. Follow medical-clearance and environmental precautions. If you miss one workout, continue with the next day. If you miss a whole week, consider restarting that week and make that decision before proceeding.

What you need
